As always, NTAAC events are never limited to just art conservators, anyone who works with or around art, antiques or historic objects is welcome to join in the conversation.

NEW Public Art At NorthPark Center

A new art exhibit has been installed at NorthPark Center. If you took the March tour, you'll want to go back and see this new exhibit "Art Meets Fashion: 1965 - 2015". The historic gowns from UNT's Fashion Collection are located between Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus on level one.

Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015
August 22 - October 25
Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom

NorthPark Center is pleased to present Art Meets Fashion: 1965 – 2015, an exhibition from the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas featuring 29 looks spanning the last 50 years of fashion curated by Myra Walker. Selections include French designer Pierre Cardin’s iconic “Bulls-eye” minidress; a 1974 Halston silk pantsuit featuring an Andy Warhol printed design based on his series, Flowers in 1967; and a 1980s Christian LaCroix for Dior, a 1995 dress by Todd Oldham; and works by current designers from the 2007 Neiman Marcus show Future Fashion.  The exhibition is located on Level One between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

One of the highlights of this exhibit is a gown by Thilo Westermann for Escada. The black and pink strapless gown for spring/summer 2015 is highlighted in the center of the platforms. Watch this YouTube video to see how Westermann creates his designs and then go see the gown at North Park Center.
